In our garden there is a big ceramic pot filled with water and some plants, and there lives many tiny ricefish. Yesterday I noticed the surface of the water was frozen. I took the half melted ice from water which was of course very cold!

Generally ricefish has much tolerance against the change of temperature of water and most of them can survive the winter at the bottom of water. I have already wrapped the pot with jute cloth, the bottom of the pot is buried in the ground thus it can keeps some warms. On sunny, warm day I still see 1 or 2 fish in the water, and I’m sure there are more in the water. I hope they will all survive this coldness...
