Amami trip

From 20 to 23 Feb I've visited Amami-Oshima for my holiday. It's a rather big island between Kyusyu and Okinawa, famous for its unique nature and culture. It has beautiful beaches and coves surrounded by coral reef, many mountains (the highest one is about 600 metres, high enough for a not very big island. And most of these mountains are covered by wildwoods), one city and many small towns or villages, some rivers and mangrove forest, unique foods and liquor, unique wild animals etc. Amami is not as popular as Okinawa at the moment so keeps its rather rustic, tranquil atmosphere. I and a friend have stayed in a hotel in front of the quiet beach for 3 nights, enjoyed driving around the island (my friend drove), kayaking on the river surrounded by mangrove forest, guided night tour to look for the Amami-rabbit in the evening (we saw 4 rabbits!), many local food, buying bottles of Kokuto-Shochu (the local liquor. My friend love alcoholic drinks, I got some for my sister's husband who can drink quite a lot.) etc. We had rain on one day but generally good or so-so weather, had very enjoyable and busy time - so after I came home I found I was really tired!! XD.
Here are some photos I took on Amami.
