good bye books

Today a staff of secondhand bookshop came to my house to buy the old books. While he was checking the books I talked with him about the books he handle, it's very interesting. He cannot buy some kind of books though they are good books because there are too many copies, or some books were very popular and expensive just 5 years ago but now there are few people who want to buy them etc. Which books he can buy is just depend on which books are popular on the secondhand market at present.

He chose and bound over 2,100 books and paid me some money, but the money is not the point. As a book-lover I hate to throw books away, if they will be placed on the bookshelves of secondhand shops someone might be pleased to see them as I did many times... this idea is the reason I like the secondhand bookshops.

So... good bye books, I hope you'll find new owners!
