stranger in his own country

A weary long day...
Recently, after the Tohoku earthquake, I sometimes write "we Japanese" do something or think something, but honestly, they have been always "they Japanese" for me, or, correctly, "they normal Japanese". Despite my complete Japanese birth and breeding I've been minority in my own country all my life. And THEIR usual intolerance for the people unlike them, for the things strange to them still makes me really tired sometimes.

Today in our office we had some... small disagreement. Not an argument, I exchanged polite words with my co-worker, still I cannot help noticing there was a gulf between us. I fully know that there are many people unlike me in this world, but...I doubt if he knows the same.
