lost in Paris ???

In May I'm going to join the coach tour planned by my Scottish friends, it's a custom-made trip for the people who has particular interest, which will start from London then end up at Paris.
When I checked guidebooks and information on internet for this trip I noticed that I just have very vague knowledge about Paris, this very famous city, the most popular travel destination. I knew Louvre and Orsay museum locate on the opposite banks of Seine, but which one on which side?? Are the Arch of Triumph & Champs-Elysees in the centre of the town like the Buckingham Palace & the Mall in London??
I have been to France several times recent 15 years but every time I skipped this capital to visit the provinces, have just a poor sense of direction of Paris.
I'll stay there just 1 night & 1 day, but before I leave for this trip at least I have to find out how to go to Charles De Gaull airport from our lodging near Sorbonne university... X(
