Delvaux Exhibition

Paul Delvaux is one of my favorite artist. I'm not a big fan of Surrealism art but Delvaux's art has charmed me since when I have seen his works for the first time about 20 years ago. I have once been to Belgium to visit the Paul Delvaux Museum in Saint-Idesbald, a small town near Oostende.

Today I took trains - about 2-hour train ride! - to go to see Paul Delvaux exhibition in some small art museum in the suburb of Tokyo.

Most of the exhibits are from Belgium, some of them are what I have seen in the museum in Saint-Idesbald. They were wonderful... their composition, colours, quiet & mysterious atmosphere. When I see Delvaux's art I always feel like the totally different time than usual is flowing.

Then in the evening I went to the concert of classical music - Beethoven and Tchaikovsky -, the performance was just great.

Very sophisticated Saturday! :)
